John F. Salow (he/him) is a founding member of Monroe Pride and Embrace Monroe. John is a graduate of Western Michigan University and Monroe County Community College where he studied Leadership, Communication, and Journalism. Creative writing, event planning, and pop culture studies are just some of his passions.

Michelle McDevitt (she/her) is a graduate student with a passion for learning and helping others. She enjoys crocheting, reading, and community involvement. Known for being attentive and always looking for new ways to be creative and contribute to those around her.

Emily Johnson (she/her) lives in Monroe with her husband, Patrick, daughter, Reese (yes, that Reese!), and their 48 rescue animals. Outside of work, she’s been a co-host of Monroe County Pride since 2022 and serves as Vice President of Prism: LGBTQ+ Support, Education, and Resources. Nadine Meeker (she/her) is one of the founders of Monroe Pride, along with John Salow and Jason VanStone. She’s the current treasurer of Embrace Monroe. When she’s not working in animal rescue, she lives with her husband of 30+ years and a menagerie of pets.

Bryan Jones (he/him) is a local educator, graphic designer, and artist. He has played an active role in supporting Monroe County’s LGBTQ+ community as a founding member of Embrace Monroe and Monroe Pride. Jason Van Stone (he/him) a local artist, and former curator of local Art Gallery, is the founding member of Monroe Pride and Embrace Monroe. Jason has been involved the local LGBTQ+ community and art communities. He has been Art Market planner in Monroe county and has shown art in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Dundee , Monroe, Canton, Ida and even Salem, Massachusetts.
